Beckham Loves His Penthouse

Becks never really dug this bed too much, which sucked because #1 got it for him right when I adopted him. Well, after Calvin helpfully removed a lot of the stuffing and I put it atop Cal's kennel so they can snooze together during the day - he loves it.

Brought him home last night! With some help from an experienced cat lover, got him settled and comfortable. Here are some more pics on Flikr [I'll get my sets in the sidebar sometime soon...] You can also click the big pic there as well ->

It was pretty traumatic once he got home, he had some reactions to his new place...but, in an hour or so, settled right down and relaxed.

This morning he was lazy and snuggly, I sat in the chair with him for a bit and he immediately fell fast asleep. I love him already.

BUT - now he needs a name! He's pretty regal looking, so the lighthearted stuff won't fly. We came up with Beckham last night, and it's the working name for now - I refuse to call him 'Akio' which was the name they gave him at the Animal Humane Society.

Speaking of the AHS, the Walk For Animals is coming up soon, along with Springtime... This year will be my third walk, and I'm very excited to wander about with tons of animals, munching tofu pups and raising money for such a worthy place. The care that animals get there is really good, as my cat adoption experience reinforced. I hope to, once again, make the big money club, eat the special VIP bagels, and come home with loads of AHS WFA Swag to pass out to friends and family.

Name The Cat!

So, I'm going to check out this cat at a rescue place. I've got a few mice in my house getting a bit too comfortable, and Calvin the Doberman mutt has proven ineffective in hunting them down. Maybe since the floor is so slick, he can't get any traction...ever...or maybe he's lazy.

I've always liked cats in that they are low-maintenance, obtuse towards everyone but me and a select few, and purrr - some even grunt! I should be so lucky...

Anyway, I have a big house and it's time a feline stalk about it looking sleek.
