Finally. I know this issue has probably been a nasty thorn in Paula Thornton-Greer's side. Last I heard, Target had gotten behind pharmacists' right to refuse to fill perscriptions as religious beliefs of its employees under the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
Here is that piece on NPR...
I believe that if a pharmacist refuses to fill a perscription, they need to aid the guest in finding an alternative resource, another team member or another pharmacy, where she can get her perscription filled. The Star-Tribune piece doesn't mention exactly whether the pharmacist failed in that regard, which to me, is the operative issue at stake.
At any rate, I would personally like to congratulate Bob Ulrich, Chairman and CEO, Gregg Steinhafel, President, and Michael Francis, Executive Vice President, Marketing
for Target finally standing up for a women's right to appropriate, legal medical access.
Kinda obvious when you consider their core demographic - I would assume that right-wing neocon 50s crap doesn't play too well with 23-40 year old women with incomes over 35K/year...
